Opening Fireside Chat
Precision Health and Genomics: Unlocking Individuality
Precision Health used precisely entails factors (genetics, lifestyle behaviors, and environmental) affecting an individual’s health, more than just the absence of disease, focused on preventing disease and optimizing individual fitness.
AdventHealth, like many other healthcare systems, is putting lots of work into unlocking information from a person’s genes. Genomics | AdventHealth

1:00 pm
Breakout Session
Precision Medicine - Realizing the Whole Patient Story
The difference between a traditional assessment of a complex patient condition and true “precision medicine” is the degree of reliance on available data – at point of care – to make decisions about specific treatment paths that may be more beneficial for the patient.
To achieve a path to true personalized healthcare we need to step back from locking data in disparate silos (genomic, EMR, claims, etc.) and start thinking of building a patient model that reflects the whole patient story with all these pieces fitting together and allowing patterns to emerge from this picture.
Speaker(s):
- Gilan El Saadawi, MD, PhD, MS, Chief Medical Officer, Realyze Intelligence
1:25 pm
Precision Prescribing Panel
Taking a Team-based Approach to Treatment
This panel of pharmacists and healthcare strategists will discuss connecting pharmacists and providers for a team-based approach to delivering precision health care. They will explore how physician practices can use lab and pharmacy data to better coordinate care for their patients, as well as demonstrate clinical utility and actionability to ensure payment.

- Kandace Schuft, PharmD, Senior Clinical Content Specialist, Pharmacogenomics, Wolters Kluwer Clinical Drug Information
- Richard M. Peters Jr., MD, Assistant Professor of Population Health, The University of Texas
- Anthony Morreale, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, FASHP, Associate Chief Consultant for Clinical Pharmacy Services and Policy, US Department of Veterans Affairs
